~No title yet, sorry~

At birth, nymphs have coal-black eyes as dark as night. They eventually turn into a different colour that predicts our destiny. If your eyes were swamp green, you’ll come back to life as a tree, plant or animal after death. Others, however, came back as pebbles, rocks, or rare stones if their eyes were emerald green. There's a variety of different colours that you might get, the rarest being an awesome silver and amber mix, meaning that you are immortal.
On the first day of June, 1998, an immortal was born. Out of all the beings in our world, I, a child of ordinary woodsprites, was chosen to take the path of the immortals.
However, I was even rarer than an ordinary immortal, for I carried the mark of a greater being within my extraordinary eyes.
My eyes were unique, the first of their kind. Although there were over 30 immortals before me, none of them had eyes like mine.
Not only were they silver an amber, like all the other immortals, but they also had multicoloured specks bordering the pupils, something unheard of in all of our history.
Being immortal had its perks, but it also had downsides. When I was two weeks old, I was taken away to a location unknown to all except for the immortals and the king, to train to protect our kind, like all of the other immortals. After training there, I was taken somewhere by my tutor, Keira, an elf with amazing magical powers.

Chapter 1 - Elementals

“Wait, Keira!” I shouted after my tutor, she was taking me somewhere, "somewhere secret where you are to train", apparently, but she could at least wait for me to catch up with her!
“Hurry up, Willow! There’s no point going if you can’t keep up, you’re the only reason we’re going.” Keira snapped back over her shoulder, not even slowing as we walked through the forest towards a large, silver, metal gate.

Keira showed the guards some sort of pass and a guard gnome flung open the silver gates to show a majestic, circular building surrounded in greenery. We stepped inside – me thinking that the security wasn’t that good - and Keira directed me to a large golden door, as if she had done this many times before.

WOW. That was the only word I could think of to describe the room displayed front of me. The room was filled with fun things for the people here to enjoy; beanbags, TVs, board games, books, computers, etc! Cool.
“This is The Hall of the Immortals, you will stay here for the rest of your training.” She chuckled at the look of bewilderment and delight on my face, and then pointed to a balcony near the ceiling,
“The others are probably up there. Off you go! I have to go have… a word… with the director.” And as suddenly as that, she turned her back to me and closed the door behind me.

Soon after, I found myself looking up at the long rope ladder which was the only way to get up to the balcony, which was surprisingly high up.
“Oh, well.” I thought and started to pull myself onto the first rung, making a little bell tied to the top of the ladder ring, “An alarm!” I realized, just as a smiling, dread-locked head looked over the edge of the balcony.
“Finally! A newbie! Well come on up then! Here, I’ll help...” He shouted down to me and started to pull up the ladder, me just managing to hang on.
At the top, he opened one of the two doors at the top, revealing the sounds of go-carts and cheering.
“GO! GO! SWIFT!” “GO! GO! ROBIN!”
Two girls sat in the middle of the small crowd, consumed in an epic go-cart race! “GUYS!” The dread-locked teen shouted over the cheers.
“Wait for a sec, Ray! I let me pause this game!” Replied one of the go-carting girls.
Soon there was silence, everyone had turned around, and were looking at me.
“Umm… Hi, I- I’m Willow…” I stuttered to the crowd, there was an awkward silence, then a blue-eyed, blonde-haired girl put down the controls for the go-cart race and introduced herself to me,
“Hi! I’m Swift, Element of Air!”
The dread-locked guy exclaimed loudly, “I haven’t introduced myself yet, sorry! I’m Ray, Element of water.” I looked at both of them confusedly “Elements?” what were they talking about?
Ray looked at me, his face a mask of shock and surprise, “You haven’t heard of the elements? Story time everybody!” Everyone started making themselves comfy on beanbags and armchairs,
“Ray! What if they haven’t told her for a reason?” Swift accused him, but by this time; I was dying to know what they were talking about so I was very relieved when Ray ignored Swift and started to tell the story anyway…

Chapter 2 - King Nymphadros

“Ahem… Can everyone hear me? Good. Let me begin…

A millennia ago, before humans claimed the Earth, nature spirits roamed the land. All nature spirits were ruled by two rulers, King Nymphadros, an honest and kind wood elf, and his sister, Queen Nymphadora, a cruel yet hardworking leader. They ruled over the entire Earth (although the Earth wasn’t called that before the humans took over.) The whole Earth was divided into two, the East side and the west. Queen Nymphadora ruled the East and King Nymphadros the west. More people lived in Queen Nymphadros’ side and although it was brutal and justice was not always served in her side of the kingdom, one ever complained in fear of her trusty companions – who were actually assassins – that were always by her side. Also the goods there were cheaper, and their warriors were stronger to protect them from the mysterious animal-like creatures that were often sighted in the South part of the kingdoms.
King Nyphadros’ side was a beautiful place, bursting with greenery and colours. It was very peaceful there, as no more than 500 people lived there. The people who lived there were hardworking and did not fight very often –which was a bad thing when it came to the mysterious creatures of the south. Everyone was happy under his rule, as he and his judges were fair and always served justice.
An old man lived on the west side, in a small cottage by the forest that separated the two kingdoms. He was a small dwarf who told fortunes for a living; many people came to him for him to read their fortunes as he was very good at his job. One day whilst he was reading someone’s palm, he had a vision of the future.

“I have been chosen to tell the world of a great prophecy,” He told the King, after finally getting into the palace and introducing himself. “I have been chosen to tell you of the immortal ones, the ones who will save the planet one day. In the future, a great army of evil beings will arise and destroy the entire world that we live on unless the immortals join together to destroy them. There will be many immortals, though six of the strongest beings will lead them, these will be: one controlling the element of water, one of earth, one of fire, one of wind, one of electricity, and the strongest being of all – one who can control all the elements. But be careful, one might have to sacrifice their life to save another and they will have to be kept true, as there is a possibility that they might desert one another, and if that happens, we are all doomed.”
The king took him seriously, even though many of the other beings in his kingdom did not, and spent many nights with the old dwarf, contemplating the future and discussing what they could do about it.
The king built a gigantic, circular building for the immortal ones, hiring the most powerful and magical beings to infuse magic within its walls, and creating ingenious ways to defend it and its residents.
He hired only the best of the guards to defend this building, and the most powerful wizards and witches to teach the immortal ones how to use their powers to their full potential.
When the king passed away, he left a huge amount of money to sustain the building, and the building has continued to function to this day.”

“Wow, Ray, you should write these stories down, you’re so good at telling them!” I murmured, awestruck.
“Thanks!” Said Ray as everyone went back to doing what they were doing before, “We’re going to test you for your element tomorrow. It’s going to be a long day for you tomorrow, so you should go to bed soon, I’ll get Swift to show you your room, I think it’s just next to hers!”

Soon afterwards, after a several minutes of pestering Ray about what the tests would be (to no avail), Swift led me to my room. It was surprisingly big and spacious, with two large wardrobes in the corner, a stationary covered desk with a chair tucked under it, and a large bed sat in the middle of the room with, to my surprise, my suitcase lying on top of the crisp bed sheets.
“Just pound on the wall behind your bed if you need anything, and I’ll come!” Swift told me cheerily as she closed the door behind her and left me alone in my unfamiliar surroundings.
I spent the whole night wide awake under my bedcovers, wondering about the upcoming tests the next day.
